Hi all, I want to become thane in Falkreath, but the Jarl (Siddgeir) doesn't have the dialogue option to start me on the initial "kill a bandit leader/giant/dragon" quest. I understand this is a well-known issue in that hold. In my journal I have a couple such early thane quests left over from Dawnstar, where I nevertheless became thane without problems. These two quests are "kill a giant" and "collect bounty from Skald", and I cannot complete them anymore. I couldn't complete them even when Skald was still Jarl, and now he is Jarl no longer. I went to talk to him in Ulfric's palace, then tried talking to the current Jarl Brina, but there's still no option to complete those quests. I visited the giant camp in question and there is no one there, so I must have killed that giant before being given the quest, and now I can't get the bounty or even mark these two quests in the journal.

Anyway, in Falkreath I'm about ready to become thane: I completed the Clavicus Vile and Hircine quest, and did two radiant quests for the old disgruntled ex-Jarl there (killing his vampire ancestor, and stealing a letter from the blacksmith), and now he offers me no more quests. I also did a few other people some favors, so all I need now is for Jarl Siddgeir to just start me on the initial thane quests. And he never does.

Could anyone help please?
