Food not having advertised effects

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 2:42 am

Is it just me or do certain food items (vegetable soup, venison stew and possibly others I haven't checked) not give the advertised 1 health per second bonus? It's not especially noticeable with the ridiculous FPS-style health regen that's going on (really, couldn't you guys have disabled that in Master difficulty at least?) but I thought I'd throw this out there so it can be swallowed up by the void. I mean fixed. Yes, of course, fixed.

I don't know if the stamina or other bonuses are working correctly, and have about as much inclination to test them as Bethesda's QA department did.

I have to check, but my first suspicion is, that this is the same problem I encountered when I tried to let the potion take effect more slowly.

As far as I found in SkyEdit the Restroe Health effect doesn't accept a duration. If this was true, the food could not have the desired effect.

/EDIT:
I've just set the vale of the stew to 30 health points per second (via SkyEdit). It is not working.

Interesting...I never really tested it myself, but here's how I tried to test it:

player.setav healrate 0player.additem 000F431E 1

However, I'm not sure setting the Heal Rate to 0 messes with testing.

I actually discovered the problem while I was trying to disable that absurd health regen (I'd seriously like to meet whoever thought that was a valuable addition to this game, just so I could personally express my complete and utter contempt for their design philosophy). At first, I also thought that setting the heal rate to 0 might be affecting the result (if the food was applying a multiplier to the standard heal rate, for example), but tracking the amount of health restored (using the default heal rate) over a given amount of time with and without eating appeared to have identical results.

This wasn't in the release notes for 1.4.15.0.4 so there was no reason to expect it to be fixed, and it hasn't been.
