Video issue !

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 10:45 pm

Its not a bug but it is annoying and after a few hours of messing with the settings on my HDTV and the video settings for the game I cannot get it to fix.

When I look quickly from the ground to the sky t he sky sort of "fades in" from pure white to having detail

An issue that I believe is related is when a dragon shoots his breath at me... When the breath is hitting me the color is spectacular... then when he stops for 2 to 3 seconds I have a black screen which then again fades in.

Is this on purpose? 3 friends of mine are now having the same issue.

My specs

AMD 1100T 3.3 ghz
XFX 6970 2GB at stock clocks
16 GB of 1600mhz DDR3
2 x 1 TB HDDs

47' Vizio EV470L connected through HDMI

I think you're describing HDR lighting. It's a technique used in games to simulate the effect of light changes on the human eye.

Sit inside in the dark, then go outside into the beaming sunshine, the effect is a blinding white light for a moment.

HDR isn't perfect but it's trying to do something the perfect human eye can achieve ;)

Currently you can only turn it off in the config for ENB series patch. Search for it on Skyrim Nexus.

Because your opinion of what looks good might not mesh with someone else's opinion. Mine for example. I don't have issues with the HDR lighting as it is mostly a concern when you're swinging your view around quickly and not so much during most normal play. Having said that, it's great that we can mod a great game so that it can look good...to us.

Bethesda knows that the community is full of great modders and counts on it. We should as well.

The mods Ive seen are not mods but actual scripts that you have to edit the ini file. I simply want it disabled. Also the two I found were both incompatible with afterburner.. Thats a negative ghostrider

Dont always believe what you read..try for yourself....

But i always have Afterburner running..and I am using ENB series...hmmm.

ENB is still the only way to stop HDR. However the CK should be released soon and hopefully people will be able to make mods or shaders to stop it also :)
