Weekday updating at 8am

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 6:14 am

Hi,
I remember this being an issue if you disabled vsync. However I never did this afaik.

While the date changes correctly at 12am the day's name does not change until 8-9am

Is there a way to fix that?

It's a bug caused by fast travelling mate. If no one answers by the time I get home I'll go through how to fix it :)

Here is the fix. Thanks to the original poster, and also SomeWelshGuy for his maths skills

Wait in game until the very minute the day name changes. As soon as it does, "open the console, type "set gamehour to 0.00" and that's it."

That's a very convoluted way of doing it. A better and easier way is:

1) type show gamedayspassed

2) take the fractional part (the number after the decimal point) of what you see from the above command, you multiply that by 24.

3) type set gamehour to

Example:

If show gamedayspassed returns 30.5425, you do:

0.5425 * 24 = 13.02

then type set gamehour to 13.02

What's the benefit of using that method and not mine mate? Is mine a bit "slap dash"?

Waiting for the exact minute requires trial and error, and is time consuming.

(The wait command in itself is already time-consuming enough as it is)

The method I provided requires the user to type only 2 simple commands.

Ah I see. I already new the minute luckily, as it switched moments after checking ;)

Sorry for the bump, just letting you know that this has been fixed in patch 1.4 beta, and will therefore be officially fixed in the next patch. :)

Displaying the date wrong is a minor annoyance, the real issue is that most of the AI and quest scripts are based on the game clock, so once it gets off kilter by a large amount suddenly most quest scripts break and the game becomes near unplayable. Glad they fixed it in 1.4
