Battle music not playing after 400+ armor rating?

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 1:03 am

As the title says, my game seems to quit playing combat music after I reach somewhere above 400 armor rating - dragons aren't playing their themes, and I cut down swaths of Stormcloaks during one of the Civil War fort quests to the tune of serene ambient music. Is there anything that can get around this? Is this a known issue? Searching only got me a handful of mentions of such a glitch, and the only detailed description I've found suggests it should be happening at 900+ armor, not a mere 400-600. It's kind of annoying to have to purposely weaken myself to enjoy the music...

Hmm, so the game will include beasties like Ancient Dragons and events like fortress assaults in the whole dynamic music thing? That's... disappointing.

Guess I've got three perk points to move elsewhere.

Up the difficulty if you are still able to I guess.

During development, I recall reading about ambient sounds only playing after about 5 minuets of ingame/battle music. But I find it strange that it would be tied to armor rating  odd...

I had overpowered dragonscale and it made the game really boring so I switched to Daedric and now Forsworn can kill me again. Maybe create new armor with only enchantments that help your weak abilities.

I'm using Ebony armor with a Daedric shield, on Master difficulty. Maxed smithing, four pieces of smithing apparel, a couple points in Juggernaut and Well-Fitted were enough to get me to the armor cap, but even before that Elder Dragons weren't playing combat music.

Removing Well-Fitted and changing my chestpiece into a non-tempered one got me to less than 50% armor and packs of Bandit Marauders can kill me but it seems music still doesn't play against them sometimes.

Seems like it just deems the player too powerful too easily...
