Has anyone not used companions?

I'm not talking about if you're the class that tames beasts and uses them. I'm talking about human companions.

I've played about 25 hours and oneof the first things I did was go through the Jarl quest line in Whiterun where the Jarl gave me a title and a bodyguard. I have yet to use her and I don't see me using her anytime soon.......I just like exploring by myself.

I dont't use compaions unless it's an escort quest or whatever. I like going at it alone.

I did when I was weak, and she saved my sorry hide multiple times.

Especially from the Dragon Priest Krosis. Aranea Ienith was awesome.

I don't use any companions so far. Escorting NPC doesn't count, of course.

I never use companions. I also hate games where I'm forced to have some random npcs following me around, getting stuck on things or alerting enemies. I just like going solo, so my 1 companion just chills in my house all day.

I am not using any on my Ninja.

Mostly because companions don't [censored] sneak

I'm on my second playthrough and I've only used a companion once. Erandur while fighting those 3 guys for Gauldur's Amulet.

My character is a thief and I found that companions just alert the mobs every time, so after that, no more companions for me.

They are very useful for my mage now especially since I'm playing on Expert. The thing is they arent always going to be with you. They get lost in the dungeons and you end up having to go it alone at times which is cool.

I have only used companions when they are forced on you by quests, I find they get in the way too often. At the default difficulty they aren't needed for anything other then being pack horses.

Guess it's a matter of choice. I like playing without companions. Not having to look out for anyone, the feeling of 'going at it alone'. It's how i played Morrowind and Oblivion. In Fallout i always used the max number of companions, but it's more of a gun focused playstyle. I felt that companions are just 'right' there. I need some extra firepower when going at it. In Skyrim, though cut from the same cloth, it's much more fun for me to explore alone. Ahh well, finally i have someone i can put in my house to have a guard for all my stuff! :batman:

Nah. Haven't used any and probably aren't going to. Didn't like it in Oblivion either. They would get stuck behind things and when they died, I always felt like I could miss something later on (story-wise). Can't explain it, but a companion that died would feel like a failure that continued through they game.

Also, I would like a companion in Skyrim better, if they had more personality. In Mass Effect and KOTOR (okay, you have multiple companions at the same time), but they would demonstrate their character by going into discussion amongst themselves and with you. That's quite different from having a someone run behind you looking baffled at you all the time.

I don't use companions because I feel they are inferior to me in every way. I like being the lone wolf, doing what I please. I sneak around a lot too so there's another reason I don't use companions.

I never use companions due to the fact they're more of a burden than any help.

Used Lydia for all of five minutes in a dungeon and decided never again. Companions' stupidity breaks immersion.
