water problem--- when I am not in water but near it...I got

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 2:38 pm

so many times when I am near water, the screen pops with the filmy cover for water that happens when you are UNDER water. the sound changes, and you drop out of sneak/lose weapon.

the water glitch is not only annoying but deadly, if you are in sneak when it hits. I was near a sleeping bear, walking along and not even in water, and the water mechanic kicked in.

I have tried Vsync crap. both with .ini and with driver. both on and off vsync.

I have updated my nvidia driver like bgs suggested to me.

this problem is intermittent but can sometimes really EFFFF up my game.

anyone else have this?

anyone have help?

I think this is caused by having a framerate above 60.

Have you played with the ugridstoload setting ?? -- In Oblivion increasing it above the default of 5 used to do this type of thing near the water so that might be the cause if you've increased it !

I have an Nvidia GTX 580 and I have never encountered this bug. I use uGridsToLoad=7, but I've never turned VSync off. I'd suggest you rename your INI files and let the game recreate them and try different detail levels in the launcher. If you have any mods, particularly those that alter shaders or textures, remove them.

I seem to be getting this bug too, Whenever i look up into the sky i get black textures and it does the swimming animations when moving and it moves my character up into the air. I've tried everything, i also get the physics problem which causes objects to fly around a room when entering. I've tried using v-sync it solves my physics problem and i don't get above 60 fps but i get very slow mouse input. I've also tried a fps limiter but get very bad screen tearing. I'm at my wits end here, all i seem to get now when playing skyrim is bug after bug.

I really hope this get fixed or if anyone has a solution i'd be greatly appreciated.

This is an example of what i get, it flickers black textures and when it happens and i look up towards the sky it causes a water sound and the swimming animation to occur.

This doesn't happen in any other game. It also flickers on and off, it doesn't happen for more than 1 second.

Thanks.

I get the same problem on 2 different computers. My desktop has a GTX 580 and my laptop has a 6970m. It happens only when VSYNC is OFF. But I get horrible input lag with VSYNC on. It also happens on a friends laptop that has SLi GT 260m's.

Any word on a fix?
