Should enchanting be nerfed?

I think it is according to what people prefer to do and I like the idea of getting good stuff out of crafting efforts (but I am a crafter in any game, I love that aspect). However, most games make crafting a waste of time because you find better stuff or get it for doing quests. So I guess if you are a crafter you can get good gear before doing the quests that give you the good stuff whereas those who hate crafting also get a chance to get good gear.

So I am not complaining about anything in this game to do with crafting :)

good idea, I going to do this too
ps: would be more fun to not use smithing

I use arcane smith and nothing else. That way the gear that I do find, I can keep viable (since I play on master) but I cannot make my own artificial gear. If it is in the game, I will find it and can make it sharp/sturdy- but I can't make my own uber-god items.

This is a good balance for me.

Smith and Enchant is there for people who want to craft their own stuff and other items are for people who don't.
Basically, you need to decide are you going to look for your equipment or make it yourself.
There is nothing wrong with crafting and this thread is kinda pointless.

I would love to hear your thoughts about this, did you take the effort to craft your dream-gear? Or you avoided it to enjoy finding the premade gear in game? Do you think smithing and enchanting are overpowered and should be nerfed? Or they are just fine and players should chose what do they want: superpowered gear or enjoyment of discovery?

Please write what you would do in the place of Bethesda when you create the next Elder Scrolls game!

I take the effort to craft my own gear.

No, I do not avoid it for the premade gear. Btw, good luck crafting something like Ebony Mail.

Enchanting, smithing, and alchemy do not need to be nerfed. I like being able to make legendary artifacts myself.

People have control over their experience. I do not want my hand held in an rpg like TES.

I would keep the graphics of Skyrim, and just focus on using the core design of Morrowind for stats and their calculations. Yes, I like the fact that you miss your opponents even when your weapon is in range. I actualy liked that. Removing the dodge stats just turns this game into a twitch based action game. This is a TES rpg, not Halo. (I used to play Halo, and I was actually very good at it, but those game mechanics actually destroy my elderscrolls experience.)

I don't think Enchanting should be nerfed, but I do think it shouldn't be so easy to level it.

Enchanting actually used to be a whole lot more powerful in previous games.
