Playing a redguard sword and boarder, emphasis on the sword, and i'm wondering if there are any unique swords that i can look forward to getting later on that match molag bols mace in power. i'm aware that maces hit harder than swords and swing slower.

Chillrend is pretty amazing, but I believe it's hard to get to, unless Thieves Guild.

You could try Dawnstar from Meridia's shrine. It's probably a little less powerful than Molag Bol's Mace (except against undead... oh my, yes).
