A house in the middle of nowhere

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 8:00 pm

So I know you can buy houses in all the cities/towns but I want to get one in the middle of nowhere. One that's actually mine not an abandoned house or someones house and I end up killing them to just live in their place. Is there any houses you can buy that's not in the middle of a civilization?

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:HousesNone you can buy sadly, though a few with safe containers unowned beds and no npcs around them. Edit: suppose it wouldn't hurt to link them there are a few minor quest spoilers in there.

A direct fast travel point for your own house would be nice too

To bad mark and recall is gone :(

They say that it breaks the game but they could have just used the "you can't use that here" just like the "you can fast traval here" I don't understand why not.

This.. In all the cities where you can buy cities, the jarls palaces are all fast travel points.. so why couldn't they include your house or spawn you next to it.. when you fast travel to that city
Another little gripe... In Oblivion (haven't played for a while) I believe you could fast travel from within your house (or at least you certainly could from within the empirial city shack..)

Tips for fast travel:
-Riften: FT to stables, the back entrance to your house is right behind it.
-Whiterun: Just FT to the city.. small stroll of the main gate.
-Solitude: FT to Blue Palace. Spawn point is closer than main city entrance.
-Markath: Both Understone Keep and main city entrance are viable.. Both seem to be as close or far away. (imho the most cumbersome to reach in a hurry)
-Windhelm: Don't have a clue... since I got the Blood on the ice not starting bug..

Other than Markarth, any cool housing related quests? I remember in OB there was that haunted one you had to clear.

I would like to see a mod or dlc where you can buy your own bedroll and a chest and set up camp in a number of different locations.

Blood on the ice is fairly cool if you can get it to work, not directly a quest for the house but you need to complete it to buy it.

I always liked those small fortified camps, I think being able to own one of those could highly benefit you. You get an archer's tower, walls, a gate system, the inside area could have a a stable/forge and other necessities... and when inside the actual building part have a few rooms.

The downside of these camps would be that while you're in them, they get randomly attacked by bandits if you leave the gate open, or npcs wait until you open the gate... so that would require you to hire mercs and give a use to your housecarls to defend your fort.

Oh yeah the houses are much nicer, Bethesda though "makes" u buy em and not put em in game from the start. If u wanna a nice house for the game u bought u gotta dish out more real money
I'm thinking since they said they wouldn't do small dlcs this time they'll just add a few with the large dlc/expacs.
