I've encountered a problem and can't seem to solve it even if I fully uninstall every UI mod...

That particular subtitle is from Aventus Aretino... It also happened in some of the Necromancers names before but was suddenly solved...

For me the same happens when trying to install skyUI and some custom font on top of each other. (but then everything looks like those things) Didn't know a solution myself (and wasn't very interested to find one ) so didn't really researched it. But if someone knows the solution for the fontbugs I'm eager to hear.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I'm experiencing the same problem and figured it would be pointless to make my own thread since there's still an opened thread about the same issue.

Has anyone found a proper solution? I am using SkyUI but I have no custom fonts installed to Skyrim.
HOWEVER I do have my Window's Font set to Roboto and I'm using the GDIPP Font Renderer. Albeit I've tried disabling GDIPP and the problem persisted.

Disabling SkyUI did not make the problem cease... :/

Also, it doesn't always show the missing font sign.
Sometimes it will only show one letter (for instance a beggar in Windhelm shows up as "S") or will be a string of gibberish.

EDIT: I found the cause of the issue!
This was the cause for me but given the date of your posts I think it's safe to say it's not the same as what was causing it for you. Albeit I do believe the problem itself to be the same.

For me, it was caused by Plutoman's "Automatic Spells" mod seen here: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1345186-relzwipz-automatic-spells/
