Simple really, i get to morokei and cant kill him, he takes no damage at all from anything i use, spells sword nothing, everything either passes right through him (weapons) or spells just have no effect at all.

there was another issue when i went in as well, there was no shield around him from the 2 wizards shielding him, just one kneeling over where he should be and the other one was actually flying around the whole room as if he was some kind of ghost having fun at hogwarts, he even passed through all the walls in the area which took me about 5 mins to shoot him down with an arrow as i waited for him to fly back into teh room.

so, cant finish the quest if i cant kill an invincible enemy.

neone know the kill specific actor command in console so i can get the staff?

Cheat ahead:

Open console, click on morokei, and type in the 'kill' command.



To properly defeat him, just make sure you have decent mana/mana regen and spam sparks on him 'til he's dead.

oh i can properly defeat him, if he was actually able to take any damage that is. he literally is invinsible, there is no feedback from hitting him at all, its like swinging in the wind, im used to doing 30x damage with a flawless ebony damage which can take out most bosses in 1 or 2 hits (i can kill a dragon in 2 hits with well placed sneak attacks)

Well, just bring up the console, select him for his ID and type in the kill command then.

just tried it, doesnt work, ive typed in teh ID as well and it still does nothing

so im guessing no1 else has a problem with any invincible main bosses preventing completion of a quest?

You just need to click the character in the window and the game will automatically reference it for console commands.


1. Open up console.
2. Click Morokei.
3. Type in 'kill' in the console.
4. ???
5. Profit

Somehow it seems your game is bugged enough to have removed Morokei from the world, if you can't kill him it's some sort of ultraconspirational bug of massdestruction.

No. I killed him a little while ago. It took awhile but both wizards had the shield up when i went in and after i killed them I had no problem with Morokei not taking damage.

I was also going to complain about spoilers, but there are none in this thread.

Anyway, if you can actually see Morokei, you can definetly target him in the console.

Is the shield still around him?

Are you certain the shield is gone?

The shield might have gone invisible I suppose, so try selecting morokei, and typing in the 'disable' command.

NOTE: If morokei disappears, DO NOT click anywhere, just quickly type in the 'enable' command, and then the 'kill' command.

I've seen others report this bug in that forum. I'm not sure if anyone came up with a solution. I was able to kill him. There are supposed to be 2 mages that are casting a spell on him to make him invincible. You are supposed to kill them first and then kill the guy. If they are not in the room, like some have reported, then I'm not sure what to do. Go have a look in the other forum section.

On a side note, he was probably the most difficult boss fight I've seen so far.

the shield IS in fact GONE, and actually it was never there to begin with, when i got there i already described what happened in teh 1st post there was no shield but i killed the guys protecting him anyways, so now he moves around the room attacking me.

When you target morokei, does an ID actually appear?

It should be something like "02B45838235

well typing disable only makes him dissappear, nothing else happens

He might be still set as essential then (although he should get K.O'd when the kill command is used)

still have the game on the steam account though, i just took my frustration out on the nearest thing skyrim related, the disk meant very little but i do feel better doing it.


and malicious, im a lvl 43 wood elf that can take out a dragon in 2 sneak attack hits, i dont think thats the problem

I would suggest just leaving that particular quest and waiting for a while. If a patch gets released, it may address the problem. You could also email Bethesda support, they might at least be able to let you know if it is a known bug or not, and also report it in the bug section of this forum, as the information given in that section might be more helpful as people are there specifically for bug-related info.

I spent over an hour trying to figure out a bugged puzzle. I reloaded and it worked immediately. There are definitely some frustrating bugs in the game, sometimes it's better to just give up on something and go back to it later

yippie, new development, cant continue main quest line due to this bug, an important guy i get info on a specific items location just sits there saying "do you think ancano knew what the eye was capable of" instead of giving me the dialogue required to find the item i need for the main quest line.

Vice, I have the same problem as you, although slightly different. I kill the two mages, but their beams projecting the shield around Morokei do not disappear. I cannot attack Morokei, although he glitches out of the bubble and moves around the room. I cannot target him with any console commands, and all weapons/magic fly right through him as if he did not exist. Using his RefID and the 'kill' command do not work, although I can bring myself to him with the 'player.move to "RefID"' command. I can't figure out a solution, and it's driving me insane. Anyone figure out how to fix this issue yet?!?
