I posted this in the game play section, but i'm now quite convinced its a bug.

I have just "killed" Alduin on the throat of the world and when i talk to Paarthurnax or Arngeir i have no new dialog options to continue to the next quest. I have tried setting quest stages via the console but nothing gives me the new dialogs.I only get the "meditate" option.

Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have a solution?

I've searched the elder scrolls wiki, google and uesp.net but have found no solution. I have also tried starting the next main quest via console.But that won't help either.

Which quest? Dragon Slayer? Based on your description, it sounds like your main quest it is actually completed:

Yup, it's a main quest. The next ones called "Season Unending".
And that is the quest that won't get initialized even though "alduins bane" is marked as complete.

Lugiber, same thing happened to me on my first playthrough. I eventually fixed it by loading an earlier save.

Have you tried talking to Esbern? He will also advance the quest.

Yeah Bad Taste is one of my all time fave films.

I have loaded earlier saves. But with no success. The question is how far back i should go. I already have three quests that I have completed but that have not been removed from my journal. So, I guess my saves are pretty messed up.
I just want to move forward and not replay half the game because of some software glitch.

Oh, and yes I have talked to all three quest givers. None apparently thinks I'm ready to go forward...

Does anyone know if i could fix this bug with the creation kit?
Would be nice to be able to move forward!
