Nice non generic Robes in Skyrim ?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 7:13 am

So I started a new character today.
I plan it to be sort of a Spellsword, using 2H, Cloth, Alteration for the most part and some Illusion, Conjuration and Destruction and of course Restoration Magic.
Already did like 2 hours of the Mages Guild Quest with another character so I dont really want to begin that one again.
Could just set difficulty to Novice and do it in short time I know, but maybe there are other ways to obtain nice Mage Robes.
I would prefer a Black one with Alteration Bonus or something like that.
So if anyone knows a way to get one without doing the Mages Guild Quest, I would appreciate it.

Also, is there is a summon Greatsword spell ? I didnt see one with my other characters yet, but that would come in handy.

I don't know about a robe [Enchant your own?] but the Execution Hood looks absolutely kickass on pretty much any evil character. The Bound Greatsword spell summons a greatsword.

Enchanted Robes can only have 1 Enchantement on them unless you are at 100 Skill, Mages Robes have 2 for the most part.
Err, if there is a Summon Greatsword Spell Iam sure it will summon a Greatsword but is there one and if so, at which level can you get it ?

As far as I am aware there is no Bound Greatsword spell, only Bound Sword, Bound Bow and Bound Battleaxe.

Hmm, I will just go then and fetch me some of the unenchanted Thalmor Robes form their Embassy and learn Enchantements.
It has the benfit of also getting nice shoes and gloves.

I would have a follow up question though, is it possible to somehow empty your left hand without having to pause the game ?
I wanted a Greatsword so I can Block some.

All the Thalmor robes I found in the embassy were already enchanted.

I found unenchanted ones in a wardrobe with another character.
Or well, at least I think so, may as well just have been unhooded ones.
I will see, wanted to do Delphines Quests anyway, didnt play them past the Embassy yet.

There's the purple Vaermina robes that are unenchanted from a quest that sends you back in time - I think it starts in Dawnstar?
