So, everytime I enter breezehome, Lydia greets me with, "I hope you dont plan on stealing anything" or "Can I help you?" in some sarcastic tone like she doesnt know i freakin live there. Well I never take followers but today 2 things happened to me. First, I got the quest "Boethiah's Calling". 2nd, Lydia pissed me off when I entered my house. So...

That's what I did with her too. I can't tell you how tired I was of going into my house in Whiterun, and seeing some stranger in there. I'm like, "I thought you were going to guard my belongings with your life." Now its just me and Ysolda, my wife. I tried to get her to follow me to Boethia's pillar, but she didn't have the dialog option. Apparently, Betheda doesn't condone sacrifing your spouse to a Deadric Prince. Which I thought would be a much more appropriate victim for Boethia. After all, you trusts you more than your wife?

My Lydia just sits upstairs all day eating and drinking. Only thing she ever says to me is "honor to you my thane" and thats it.

i have had 5 characters past level 20 so far and only 1 of them has had lydia survive for more than the first hour. She has been killed by frost trolls, spriggans, giants and spinning blade traps.

That's all mine ever do. And now that I have other houses, she hasn't followed along, thankfully. I really dislike the entire companion setup, and don't even get me started on the "spouse" crap.

three reasons why i like Lydia

1. lydia is hot

2. she'd be home whenever i want her

3. with her shield and sword in hand, She serve me rather well in combat (i doubt if there is any other companion better than her for a worrior type)

Um. I'm female. My toons are always female (I have never once had any interest in pretending to be male for any reason at all...) I have ZERO use for companions period - and even less than that for female ones.


Oh phoo. I have had more gold in this game than I could spend - even buying every house on one toon. I've never seen so much easy gold in a game....
