Why I think morrowindCyrodill will be included as DLC

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 3:02 am

So i found this book called "twin secrets" and it tells of a pyromancer (its a diary of sorts - factual retelling of events) going to the volcano in vvardenfell and fighting with a dragon (very much like Ged from a wizard from earthsea) and ending in a parlay.

This leads me to beleive, atop previous information that present day morrowind, will in fact appear as DLC :D

and, in the thalmor dossier of ulfric stormcloak, it is stated that ulfric stormcloak was captured at a battle at white gold tower in his youth fostering the beleif that there is infact a quest involved around cyrodill

I don't think they'd rehash too much of the stuff we've already seen. Although a bit of the areas would be cool. The landmasses being there are kind of funny. I used no clip and the ini code that disables border barrier to fly around cyrodil, and it's a pretty bleak, empty place, except for the extremely poorly rendered golden tower.

Let's see 2 entire provinces as DLC...a little bit too big don't you think?
And to download that actually will take up alot of space..

its not impossible though, while i do agree that 2 places would be a bit much, i think that maybe including morrowind/Cyrodill would be a good idea, Tod did say during one of the interviews that DLC for this game will be more like SHivering isles, which is to say a huge expansion to the game, and not just a new house that the only quest you do is to buy furniture, really though the DLC is anticipated more by the console owners, seeing as the moding community releases un offical DLC on a daily basis and when the CS is released it will be alot better.

What do you people mean by added landmasses? Do you mean the the game itself has the added landmasses of cyrodil and morrowind in the stock game? And if it does have morrowind is it only morrowind or vvardenfall itself? If this is the case then it is HIGHLY likely (just like how oblivion had the mehrunes razor and stuff in the stock game as an item but it wasnt released until the razor dlc which was pretty big in itself.

If they do go back to morrowind, i could see it being just vvardenfall again and the red mountain will be erupted with way more lava everywhere that possibly destroyed most of the ruins and settlements on vvardenfall (making it much smaller then the game TES morrowind butsmall enough to be a DLC). Though it would be cool to see a small outpost of redoran survivors, and some daedric worshippers and maybe even some daedric ruins and MAYBE even some freaken normal daedra (like ogrims, golden saints, clannfears, hungers and all that)

I'll let you guys in on a little secret: Pretty much every.single.video game in the past 15 years has had background landmasses, trees, mountains, etc. This doesn't mean anything, and it's a little insulting to the forum's intelligence that people here actually think there could be DLC from it.

No, it's not. Those land masses look ready to be populated. Maybe they are there as a courtesy towards mod developers. Or maybe they did them while doing Skyrim itself to save time later.

My money's on Cyrodiil, however. The White Tower being there is more than suspicious. Also, Skyrim is a lot stronger on Oblivion references than that game was on Morrowind ones. I still think it will be about kicking out the Thalmor and the Imperial City is a. the right place to do just that and b. a place they already made so it's probably rather easy to import/update it.

Actually, the landmasses aren't there. Just LOD textures, specially because you can see Morrowind from Winterhold and in the map (if you turn off the clouds)

I suspect we'll see DLC involving a voyage onboard a longboat... ;)

The only reason I believe that it's possible there will be province DLC's is because I think Bethesda is treating Skyrim as their last hooray on the PS3 and 360 with the intent of making the Elder Scrolls IV on the PS4 and next Xbox. Given that I think that the possibility of them just releasing huge DLC's of places they know the next game won't take place (such as Cyrodiil, Morrowind, and even High Rock,) is higher than it would be in the days of Oblivion's release.

If they did release the entire landmass of another province, holy crap.

I doubt it though, it's far too big and to make it really interesting they would need enough quests to make it basically another game in itself.
