Does Vampirism destroy your face...?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 8:42 am

Look at the title. I wanted to play a vampire but I really hate how it f****d up your face in Oblivion. So does it cripple your appearance and is your face being reset to a preset when you cure it again?

You never see your face anymore, so it doesn't really matter.

some people like to look at it on occasion and you do see it and sometimes you have no choice when the kill cam comes up.

The vampire I killed in-game had visible red eyes and fangs, so I would assume it does change you face, but not in the same way as it does in Oblivion.

?

Third-Person *cough*

No, it doesn't. On the fourth stage your cheeks sink in a good bit, but other than that there isn't a difference. At the first stage you are just ever so slightly more pale, and your eyes are red but its hardly noticeable.

Not really, you just have a snarl showing your teeth and red/orange eyeballs (at level 4 vampirism)

Yes, you see your back in 3rd person, and since when equipping items you don't see your body anymore, it's rare to see your face.

???

Unless you're one of those freaky people who is, I don't know, proud of the character they have created and likes to look at them fairly often?

You can easily pan around to see your character's face with the right stick though. I look at it often.

Hope Vampirism changes it, but not on the first levels. I haven't played as a Vampire yet. It would be ideal if it went something like this:

1st stage: Character a bit paler, but can suppress othe signs of Vampirism.
2nd stage: Eyes turn a bit darker, face becomes a bit more snarling.
3rd stage: Fangs visible.
4th stage: Vampirism fully visible and obvious.

I haven't looked for the cure for the character I am playing as a vampire (probably wont for that one, I like it), but I doubt it resets your face to a preset (after all the time I spent on it it better not).

There are some minor cosmetic changes to the face - the eyes change, skin gets pale and you get some nifty fangs, but nothing drastic (looks quite good on some characters).

It gets a bit more severe the higher your vampire level, but again never monstrously bad (the scary Skyrim vampires come out of it much better then the civilized Imperial vampires, irony) . Just be warned:

Spoooiler:

Vampires here have vampire levels 1 - 4. The higher the level the better the bonuses and the worse the penalties. You naturally go up in level by not drinking blood.

Socially you're fine for the first two levels, people are a bit negative at the third level but at level four most everyone will try and kill you until you drink some blood and go back down some levels, as this is when you look your most vampiric.

I've been a vampire in my second playthrough, and no, no issues with it screwing up your face as in Oblivion. If anything, the cure was rather easy, but... meh... vampirism is fun, all in all.

You can move the camera around in 3rd person... just an FYI.

No, but it probably screws up your day job, and sun-bathing sessions are just a memory

If by destroy, you mean, just found the forest where ugly sticks are made and were dragged through said forest behind a horse then, yes, it does.
Unless you feed.

Can anyone tell me if there is a console command to add vampirism to your character?

I want to see what my Khajiit would look like at all of the stages of vampirism, but I can't be bothered to actually go the quest and stuff.

I play on console (primarily b/c I don't have the money to build a pc yet) and I look at my character's face quite often, whether it be close-up or from a distance. I hope most people have realized you can do this...

You both do realize that in third person, you can rotate the cam if you stand still and look at your face, correct?

Anyway, Idk as I have only played one character (multiple creations due to recreation to create a 'perfect' character) and he is a werewolf. I have heard that it doesn't wrinkle your face, but I have seen that it gives you noticably wicked curved teeth and pitch-black eyes. Looks awesome, but I am RPing a were-dragonborn
