I've gotten 2 pieces of the dagger - the hilt and the blade fragments.

I returned to Dawnstar to turn them in early, but every time I enter the house Silus is red and immediatly starts attacking me. It's not like trespassing, he just straight out screams a battlecry and blasts me with lightning. If i kill him it comes up that i have failed the quest "pieces of the past". Is this how the quest is meant to play out and there's a follow up where you rebuild the dagger, or has the game YET AGAIN bugged on me (Imperial soldiers attack me on sight too).

I've tried yielding etc...

I really want the razor, my character is a dagger specialist



EDIT: Nevermind, after futzing around with calm I can talk to him and turn in the quest pieces, provided i keep him under a calm spell... not the best way to handle a quest - keeping the quest giver permanently under an illusion to stop him trying to murder me but i guess that's what you get for consorting with a worshipper of mehrunes dagon xD

sounds bugged to me. i went straight through with no trouble at all. if you have a save, try retrieving all 3 pieces before going back to him. if on pc there's obviously an easy way around the bug....kill him and just console the dagger in.
