Are all my mods going to hell each and every time skyrim get

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 10:09 pm

I am new the the pc version of skyrim and after I installed my 10-15 mods I was wondering once skyrim gets updated are all these mods going to suddenly be incompatible?

Does it become a pain in the ass each and every update?

This should be in the Mods section, but here it goes:

It depends on the mod and on what was changed in the update.

True. If you install mods via the Steam Workshop your Mods will try to update whenever you launch Skyrim. If you install loose files, you gotta keep updating them by yourself or use tools like the Nexus Mod Manager -> Nexusmods.com.

Yes and No. Depending on what the mod does, it might become broken with an update to the game, but even if so, the mod community is usually really good/quick about making updates for their mods if that happens.

It can be a pain,it's best if you learn where mods are loaded,i.e the three main folders for mods to be installed are in "C" - > program files - > steam - > steamapps - > common - > Skyrim <

The three most important folders in > Skyrim < are:

Data - > Meshes - > Textures. These three are the main folders for mod files.

Data
Houses the .esp files for the mods

Meshes
Houses the mesh files for the mods

Textures
houses the textures for the the mods

Understand this basic and you understand where nexsus mod manager puts the files.

"IMPORTANT"

Read what the modder says in the readme they usually supply.

If uou don't it could wreck your game.
