Can we get a freaking official drawdistance upgrade?

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 9:12 pm

Seriously Im so tired of fidgeting with the settings and Ugrids. The whole hours of tweaking thing is getting real old. Can we just get a stable upgraded drawdistance feature. I have two GTX 580s and I still have to watch my screen pop like a popcorn maker.

Yes I can run ugrids 9 without too many problems. Still is really unstable and glitchy. Trying to squeeze the performance out my cards with this game, is like trying to squeez blood from a stone.

Probably would have to rewrite the engine for that. :P

As no such "solution" was ever provided by Bethesda for Oblivion or Morrowind, and an excellent solution came out of the modding community in both cases, I think you should expect to have this addressed through a third-party mod rather than an official update. I'd rather Bethesda focused on patches and DLC, to be honest. There are some very bright, capable and focused people eager to do exactly this - and they don't work for Bethesda.

Yea, I dont even care about crazy hyper advanced graphics. I just dont want to be disturbed by constant loading and inconsistent grqphics. I wouldnt even care if the game looked like marrowind. As long as the graphics are consitent.

This whole console port thing just isnt an excuse. If they cant cross platforms correctly then they shouldnt bother.

This helps a lot. I'm using the medium (low) version. It looks much better. I'm going to try the high detail version when I get home. I noticed no performance difference, but admitedly, 60FPS doesn't get any higher. I should check in an area that is especially taxing, like the water/marsh by Morthal. Anyway, it uses more VRAM, but I don't know how much more, I didn't compare to vanilla. Check the user uploaded images for side by side comparisons

I did download this and I think I installed it lol. However it doesnt really solve the problem of distance water being frozen in time. I dont care if i can see AI pathing, I just want to be able to change ugrids around or draw distance. That is... with out doing a 30 step operation each time.
