Only causing shadow in third person?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 9:43 am

Was walking through a store and saw a shadow of what I thought to be me, so I moved around a bit to try and see if I would affect my shadow only to realize my shadow wasn't moving it was the pot next to me. I was walking around and switched to third person and lo and behold there it was a shadow of me. So my question is why doesn't a shadow of yourself appear while in first person?

game doesnt render your body in first person mode, only your arms and stuff. the funny thing is that you could turn self shadows on in oblivion if i remember correctly.

Maybe because you can't see your body in first person?

All self shadows did in Oblivion was cast extra shadows on your own character model in 3rd person. Skyrim does that already, and does it far better. (without all the weirdness in the eyes)
