A Daedra's Best Friend Problem : V

I found this quest a while back and decided that I would come back to it later. Now, once I try and "follow" Barbas, I find he is stuck in the ruins of Helgen, regardless of whether I try to talk to him or wait. Does anyone know how I could fix this (btw I am on the Xbox 360).

Try fast traveling to the place you're suppose it follow him to, he may show up there.

You can't fix it. Just fast-travel to the Haemen's (sic?) Cave. You'll find him waiting for you there.

I lost Barbas, the dog, some RL-days ago and only recently went to finish Haemen's Shame/Cave/Place ... only to find the dog waiting for me deep inside the cave.

Awesome, I shall try that. I accidently cleared out Clavicus' dungeon a while before even finding this quest so hopefully this works.
