To those who will still have this if there's a big DLC patch, how is the smithing going to work out with new gear and if you wasted perks on it? Shivering Isles example.

I suspect new equipment would fall under the existing categories, so new high-end heavy armor would require that you can smith daedric equipment.

It's also possible they'll expand the skill trees, but I don't think this would render previous perks unnecessary.
