Cheapest way to do that is a low end xbox and use USB to install games and keep savegames on.
I would get a new one and not a used one, you never know what someone else has done with it and they are fragile enough.
Yeah, I'm not even thinking about getting a used one.

And the slim model is really my only option because it's less likely to RROD.

I have the S 4GB model and I run the game from a flash drive, which is fine. However, saving and getting through the loading screens takes time. If I get a few hundred saves on there, regardless if its the internal drive or flash drive, it starts to take a while. Zero lag whatsoever when playing EXCEPT when it autosaves while I'm attempting to do something.

Personally, if I was going to buy another XBOX it would be with the HD, no doubt. I was new to consoles at the time and the girl at gamestop was dumb as [censored] and said there wasnt a need for an HD. Get the one with an HD.
