Plants auto-harvested on reload?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 7:16 am

Lately when I save in an area with unharvested plants and reload the plants will all be harvested, including farm plants and flowers. Some details on my save:

I always make a new save (no quick-saving or autosaving)
I always exit to main menu before loading a save.
Started on the original 1.1 exe, skipped updates until the 1.4 beta, currently up to date.
Running a few mods including "Clams drop Pearls" and "Possessive corpses.." as well as some small mods I made myself for crafting and fletching.
Problem persists if I uncheck / uninstall all mods.
Problem persists to my earliest save with this character (approximately 30 hours prior)
Problem does not persist on a new game with the same load order.
Problem does not happen with another character with the same load order.
Savegame is 20.2 mb.

Due to the above, I do not believe the problem is mod related, perhaps related to savegame size. My game is very stable with smooth fps and no crashes.

I've googled as well as searched the forums and I can't find anything like this. I'm worried my save is no longer saving data properly (memory leak maybe?) Any info or links would be greatly appreciated.

3 day bump.. :teehee:

Is there anyone out there who understands savegames and can tell me if this means data loss? Anyone else have this happen?

Actually, looking at your testing it is mod related. Mods can mess with Save's data, especially with mods that were made before the editor came out. Also, adding and removing mods to the same save can cause all kinds of weirdness. Perhaps it was on of those mods that hosed your save. Since it works on a new character, that would leave me to believe that it is or was a mod related issue that caused this.

Also, I have never seen this issue reported with this game in these boards, so that also tells me it is mod related.

#1 rule of using mods is to test on a forked save before deciding if the mod is what you want or until you get the mix/load order right, then load up your pre mod save, make a new slot, then play on. This way you can always go back to a Pre-Mod save.

Thank you for the reply, CCNA.

I actually did make a forked save, however when I loaded that save, the corruption was still present (without the mods). That's what led to my thoughts that they weren't the cause. It seems I don't understand the process as well as I thought I did.

Thanks again for the reply.
