What would happen if you SOUL TRAPPED the priest before Molag Bal made you kill him? Eh? Eh?

As far as I know, you aren't able to equip other things when you're beating the monk, because Molag Bal is forcing you to use the rusted mace. If it IS possible, then I'd imagine you'd just trap his soul and Molag Bal would not even notice.
