Random crashes to desktop are maddening!

Does anyone know if Bethesda has come out with an official word on this? (Any planned fixes or patches?)

I have been able to play this game for literally hundreds of hours and it's always been stable, but once I get any character past level 30 or so it keeps crashing over and over again. I can't provide specific details about the crashes because they happen anywhere, at any time, regardless of what I am doing (just walking in the world, entering a house, entering a dungeon, in a fight, on my horse, fast travelling, etc etc etc)

It is just so incredibly frustrating and totally crapping all over my entire game experience. I can't go for more than maybe a dozen minutes now without a crash, after having played probably 100 hours previously on this current character without EVER crashing... using the same settings, the same addons, the same computer... the same EVERYTHING and now the game just doesn't work anymore.

Bethesda, just what the hell is going on????

If anyone can point me to an official thread on this particular issue, any help would be appreciated.

(Also note that I have endlessly scoured the web with all the various fixes and NOTHING has worked. I am on a 32 bit XP system, quad-core processor 3.25 gigs of ram, ATM Raedon 5770 card with latest drivers latest direct X latest everything.... according to THEIR minimum requirements I should have no trouble running this game!!!!)

AAAAARGH!!!!!!

Try removing any and all mods and 3rd party stuff from the Skyrim configuration and resetting the INIs back to the default. One cannot test stability for anything as long as 3rd party customizations are in effect.

The only mods I use are a couple house mods and very small peanuts basically. I've tried uninstalling them to no avail, and I've tried every fix in the book. (Furthermore, the game ran smoothly without any crashes for a very long time with all these mods installed... These crashes are coming out of nowhere..)

Thanks for your help though

Have you tried wiping the INI files and verifying the files? Saying you tried everything doesn't really say much since I don't know what you tried exactly.

Also, are you running any script extenders?
