I killed Ulfrik FFS!

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 4:31 am

He knelt before me - I lopped him in two with my sword. Long live the Empire! Ulfrik is dead!

So why does nobody in the game world - a month or so later - even acknowledge this, even though a new Windhelm Jarl is sat on the throne?

The war is over!!! I want some credit!

They're all ticked that the most interesting character in the game is dead and they're stuck with Tullius *barf*.

Dude that's NOTHING. Your average nord has saved the world 5 times before his 16th birthday. Skyrim is a land of epic heroicness, you think you're "all that" but what do you know you only just arrived here

Maybe they dont care because they supported Ulfric. Youve basically beaten the nords into submission and now they fear your wrath

Tullius is superior to Ulfric when it comes to character. He's an everyman placed in a difficult position and wants what's best for the people. While rough and forthright in his opinion, he's a true soldier and does what he thinks is best. Ulfric on the other hand is a glory-driven fool who has turned Skyrim into a land where brother kills brother all so that HE can become High King. Both are flawed characters but Ulfric's crimes are more unforgivable, even without looking at his favoritism towards the Nords or his hostile policies towards other races.

You know what's funny, I killed Ulfric and Galmar Stone-Fist and their corpses are still in Windhelm right by the throne where I left them dead lol.

Apparently the new Jarl and the rest in the palace don't seem to notice the corpses laying on the ground in front of them lol.

I don't know if their bodies ever disappear. I moved them past the door on the left and shoved them in a closet or something, because it was too weird stepping over their naked corpses to talk to the Jarl
Maybe that's part of the Nord way though, idk

I said most interesting, not most good. I know Ulfric is a jerkass. He just makes the game more interesting, while Tullius is a snooze. When I killed Ulfric I regretted it, because the game instantly became WAY more boring.

Yes. Lack of reaction to your deeds in this game is one of it's most glaring problems. I feel like the previous TES games (at least, MW and Oblivion) did a much much better job in this regard.

No one cares. And I knew they wouldn't.

Someone said Dragonborn's usually end up becoming the new emperor.

I'm not.

That, if anything, would've made a nice pay-off.

But, as usual, it's kinda like nothing happened.

Edit: I also like how when I ask a bard to sing Dragonborn Comes, they're like "uhm... oookaaay, suure". As if they're secretly thinking "Wow, what a vain girl" (but in a ruder form of language ofcourse)

I believe it takes 30 in-game days for bodies to cycle out of the system.

It took less than 30 in-game days for their bodies to disappear. The first time I went in after the new Jarl was named their bodies were there, but a few days later I went back and they were gone. Maybe it was 10 days?
