Smithing 100, within 10 levels

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 6:19 am

Well I've noticed this on my 2nd playthrough of Skyrim and it's actually extremely cheap and helpful.

Instead of playing a trainer 4k for a level, just go town to town buying all and any leather and leather strips that you ever can (even hunting alittle for leathers help).
But the thing you need to craft the most is keep creating leather bracers (1 leather, 2 leather strips) and make hundreds of them. They level up smithing insanely fast and they're cheap and you can even sell them all back. But for more XP be sure to sleep.

Sorry - this is rushed. I can explain more later.

Can do the same with every skill in the game. Pick one at the start, level it to 100 and be around level 10. Nothing wrong when doing this with smithing as it requires two other skills at 100 before you can start thinking about breaking the game.

I never knew sleeping does anything.

What exactly does it do?

Sleeping gives you the Rested (+5% xp for skills for 8 in-game hours) and Well Rested (+10% xp for skills for 8 in-game hours) bonus. You get the Rested bonus for sleeping in any bed, whilst the Well Rested bonus can be received by sleeping in any bed that you own (eg. in your house).

You can also get Well Rested from an inn if you've only got ten gold to spare instead of a few thousand.

Ya but I've noticed this is the easiest and the cheapest way in the game to get your smithing up and it's helped me everytime. It's 500 times better than paying 5k for a single level - when you can go to 3-4 towns and spend 1500 on leather for 10-15 levels.

Hmmm... does the Warrior Stone affect Smithing experience as well as the other "warrior" skills? That might be one way to make it go even faster.

I think it does actually, but later on after that I always go to the Lover Stone for 15% faster xp in ALL skills.

you can also get 15% for sleeping at home with your spouse, but i have heard this and other sleep bonuses do not stack with the stone.

you cannot know whats supposed and what not.

i believe that the ebony blade is in fact supposed to be a one handed sword but the bug is its a 2hander since all of its stats make more sense on a 1handed. its damage is to weak to be a 2hander at all. its size is also more tailored towards 1handed. not much bigger than dragonsbane.

but that is what I THINK is correct. only the dev who made the weapon can knew really whats SUPPOSED to be really is.

the well rested bonuses do not stack with the lover stone for example. tested this by myself. didnt test the single stones tough.

Well technically the bonus SHOULD stack if you think about it, and the "Ebony Blade" is a deadric weapon isn't it? From one of the lords. Even in Oblivion "The Ebony Blade" was a two-handed weapon. But whether if it uses one handed or not I'm not sure.

You don't even have to go through that much trouble. Just pay the trainer to train you then pickpocket your gold back. By how much you raise your pickpocket level from stealing your gold back and the five levels you train up per level, you'll be able to level up and have the ability to train five more times and get all your gold back again. You can do this over and over.. I've done this quite a bit on the character I just mess around with. It does work but it's kind of cheap.

I know when I had the stone with +15% to all skills, I never got the message about being rested. I don't know about the thief, warrior, mage stones.

I enoy being a werewolf now, so no rested bonuses at all for me.

Actually I've tested that and it's not nearly as easy as it says and actually it's a massive lie unless you have around 70 pickpocketing and all of the various perks for stealing back gold. Because when you're level 50-70 and you pay a trainer and you literally hand over 10k of gold - there is NO WAY you can pickpocket 10k gold because your chances will always be 0% if it's anything above 500g-1k.

And you'll get the extra 5-15% for XP increase from sleeping UNLESS you're a werewoff.
