I just restarted my character (was lvl 35), due to being unable to start the final Thieve's Guild quest (I found it later it was because I completed the main TG quest before all the 'odd job' quests, none of the workarounds worked for me).

I spent most of the weekend retracing my steps and finally decided to join the Thieve's Guild again. After doing the initial 'collect the owings' from the 3 merchants around Riften, I am taken to meet Mercer etc etc. I am given the quest to go burn the honey huts etc, and am told to get my armor from Tonilia.

* Vex won't even talk to me
* Delvin only offers to train in sneak
* Tonilia will fence, but will not give me my armor.

What have I done wrong this time???? I tried completing the Meadery quest first but nothing. This is the third character I have played because of game breaking glitches and if I can't get this resolved will probably put the game away and play something else. Does anyone know a solution? The fact that these NPCs aren't talking means I can't get jobs from them, meaning no TG progression, so please don't just give me console codes to manually add the TG armor.

I had one of the Vex Heist quests bug out and she told me I failed it by getting noticed and/or arrested (reloaded and got different answers) but neither happened.
I setstage on the quest to finish it and now she won't even give quests.
Really, Beth staff have to PLAY these side quests more before releasing a game. I have 3 of my 4 characters ON HOLD due to the lousy coding in this game causing game-breaking bugs. Never had anything like this in ES3 or 4.

Anyone know how to FORCE a dialog topic on to an NPC? Used to be "addtopic" but it looks like they removed that feature, or at least renamed it.

Alternately, is there any way to get around the Vex quest bug so it does not have to be cheated past to finish it? Almost certainly that is why I got no more job offers from her.
