RYU from breath of fire series any one?!? : V

So my favorite JRPG of all time was Breath of fire 3, and making a ryu type character seems to perfectly fit well with the setting and theme of this game, so I was planning on making my character with this build...

Race: Nord or Breton
Skills: One handed combat (sword), Destruction (Fire), Alteration for buffs, Pickpocket, this character would also heavily use dragon shouts as well

What other skills or perks would be useful to making this type of character?
