Post » Wed May 30, 2012 3:21 pm

Hello, here wakana
i have some problem
when i play for some longer i randomly get bluescreen

i just wanted to try out Game Booster 3, which i read about
and i found a button for Diagnose
on it, it said i should copy this text on this forum... so i do
here, masters of computer knowledge! hear my call (lol) (sorry most of it is german, but the important things are still english i think, i hope you can still help)

A blue screen can mean a number of things, if you are lucky, it's just a bad driver, if not, it's an hardware issue.
You can reinstall/update your drivers (gpu, sound, mainboard), but a hardware problem is probably more likely.
Start with testing temperature of your hardware and your memory.

For memory, get memtest (it's on most linux live-cds or available for download seperately) or use the built-in Windows memory test (use the windows help and search for "Arbeitsspeicher" or such - you are using a german version, aren't you?). Memtest might be the better option, though.
When testing the memory you can encounter an error right away, but just as likely it might take a few hours of testing until an error shows up if faulty ram is to blame, so you might want to run it over night if you don't encounter an error right away.

As for overheating, best to get some tool and run a stress-test (like Prime95 for cpu or Furmark for GPU) and look at the temperature (Furmark displays the gpu temp, for cpu you can use e.g. CoreTemp).

Nothing jumped out at me in the report you submited....so

What does it say on the Blue Screen? What error code?

Try a Clean boot. Google "Clean boot". start windows with none of your other apps/programs loading in the background. Then see if you can play for an extended time.

svcks to find something that takes so long to hit. 6 hours is kinda stable, (not really any blue screen is a problem.) I usually view Blue screen as a hardware problem but some have had Bluescreens because of things like MSI afterburner running in background.

Watch your temps ...at 6 hours in, are your temps still OK?

translate gives me this...Some power management features are disabled in the performance status of the processor due to a known firmware problem. Contact the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.

svcks i cant read most of the report...but that would lead me to think you need a updated BIOS to support the CPU you have on your motherboard.

means
A few functions for the power management in the performance(status?) in the processor got deactivated due to an unknown firmware problem. contact the computer-maker/creator to get updated firmware.
(sorry, my german isnt perfect, so this is all i can give you)

on the other thread (german thread from before)
i know, the important thing is
the bluescreen is about a file : nvlddmkm.sys
and
i got a new graphic card from my friend, i will test if it still happens with it, i will tell you :)

Could be just Nvidia driver causing blue screen, but may also be Nvidia conflicting with another driver, motherboard, chipset, Something is complaining about your Processor power states. this may not be the cause, but worth looking into.

You're using the 285.62 drivers. After a quick google search, it seems that they were giving blue screens (BSOD) on others too. The current set is http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/win7-winvista-64bit-295.73-whql-driver-uk.html.

Make sure you select "custom installation" and "perform clean install", so that you won't have any leftovers from your old driver.

custom install o.O?
you mean, before reinstalling the graphic driver thing?
i uninstalled, deleted every little bit of it (with help tools too) and reinstalled it
and it still happened
but now after getting the new graphic card, it should work

I'd run a stress test on the card, to be honest. Since you say it's happening in other games, it may be the card that's at fault. There are a number of programs out there for stress testing, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
