Dear Bethesda, I am broken, not the game.

dear bethesda,

I decided to play your max/min/exploit game.

for some reason, people think it is about roleplay. but I know it is about figuring out all the possible exploits. but you know what? when I FIND them, I am actually not happy. messe up? yep.

you see, I allegedly play your game for fun. but then I do boring [censored] over and over to exploit the game mechanics.

you would think that creating such powerful items and stuff would make me happy. right? because I spent all this time I could have been exploring and reading and enjoying the game doing boring stuff like making items I never will use, etc.

so bethesda, please fix me. I am broken.

if they patched me, and I was a min/maxer i would find an exploit around the patch. I demand to be unhappy while figuring out game mechanics!!!

for the sheldon coopers of the world, the first post should be marked /sarcasm

wish this forum had kudos like nexus! I can understand some of the min maxers frustration, but hey, so far my game still rocks.... ;)

Good post. I love to theorycraft, and that tends to draw the min/maxers out of the woodwork. I don't mind people who use mechanics, bugs, or exploits to make their gameplay more fun. I've been known to min/max mechanics from time to time. If it's for the purpose of enjoying the entertainment package you've purchased, I'm all for it.

My major complaint are the compulsive min/maxers, and the fanatical purists.

The former must rip every last fraction of a percent advantage out of the game before they are enjoying themselves. And that's cool, but don't berate us for not doing the same. TES is not a competition. SC2, LoL, TF2, Gears, CoD... Go there for competition.

The RP Purists are also frustrating at times. I'm glad you found a way to enjoy the game, but some of us don't like traditional roleplay. It's not your place to tell us we're doing it wrong. You have your happy place; let us have ours.

In the end, it's the complaining that bugs me... Any complaining, really. There are many advlt, rational ways to discuss bugs and imbalances... Sadly, you don't see examples of them here very often.

Yes, because killing the last boss with 3 thunderbolts on master is good game design. I guess mages shouldn't be allowed to use alchemy.

You could one shot Dagoth Ur in Morrowind, who was immortal, by drinking a couple dozen Sujamma. I don't see the problem.
