One handed Fortify and Daggers

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 10:08 am

Just wondering if daggers are bugged to not receive bonus from Fortify One Handed or are they working as intended. Granted daggers get x15/x30 for sneak attacks BUT some may want to go heavy armor and daggers for straight melee (not me but just saying ;p) or offhanding a dagger sometimes.

Likely "working as intended". It's possible to get 90x backstab damage between Assassin's Blade, Dual Savagery, Shrouded Gloves, and Berserker Rage.

Daggers are for back-stabbing, not for toe-to-toe combat.

Does that mean then that there is no point in putting 5 ranks into Armsman since there is no benefit. Despite the description of the One-handed perk , "The One-Handed Skill governs the use of weapons like the sword, war axe, mace and dagger." Surely the Fortify One-Handed benefits of potions and items must apply. Else every assasin type would only need 1 point in Armsman in order to get to the other perks of the arc. Just seems to contradict itself. Again I am just trying to clarify if it is indeed bugged or intended cause I have no problem dealing with anything dualing daggers and sneak kills.

The armsman perk do increase dagger damage - fortify one-handed enchants/potions does not.

It all works as intended :)

e: The only one-handed perks that daggers doesn't gain anything from are the axe/mace/sword perks.

Well I accept as intended but it does make these items kinda senseless then :-

Cicero's Clothes Improved One-Handed 20% (note that Cicero wears these and uses an Ebony Dagger)

Jester's Clothes Improved One-Handed 12%

Linwe's Gloves Improved One-Handed 15%

Why add those Fortfy to items when the primary weapons used by these "classes" is a dagger.

Neither DB or TG will boot your for using swords/axes/maces ;)
Both the sets you mention gives you the opportunity not to play a dagger wielder, while the standard DB set is more or less made for dagger stabbing.
