Excessive Crashings

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 9:55 pm

I just experience excessive crashing in skyrim :( Everytime I load up it gives me a brief moment before my screen turns to black, and then it goes right back to my desktop screen in windows.

I refuse to create a whole new character just to fix this so is their any way to resolve this so I can go back to my playtime?

It sounds like you already had put a significant amount of playtime and only started recently experiencing this excessive crashing. In this case, you generally want to backtrack and un-do whatever you changed that might've caused the instability:
  • 1) uninstall any mods you installed recently.
  • 2) un-do any .ini or launcher settings you might've done, particularly draw distance and uGrid changes.
  • 3) uninstall or deactive official Hi-res texture mod if you recently installed that.
  • 4) check if you recently installed any new hardware or devices, drivers, or programs.
  • 5) validate files in Steam in case you have a corrupted or missing file somewhere.

Really helps if you post your system specs (throw it in a spoiler tag) so people can give you better advice about what might be the issue.

Actually what fix the problem is that I loaded a previous saved game. Although it did knock me down by a level but it did fix the problem thus it's worth it.

Anyhow feel free to look at my specs.
