My Specs - shold I even bother buying Skyrim?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 7:27 am

as in title - I'm on Asus laptop:
Nvidia Geforce GT520M
Intel i3 2.1 GHz
Memory 3 GB
Win7

I wanted to buy Skyrim, but I don't know it it will be playable. I don't need any fancy graphics, I just want to play on lowest setting (maybe exept enemy rendering distance, ofcourse). And I don't want to spend my money on a game I can't even play with any kind of enjoyment (see: Dead Island. Man, that was a ain in the ass, but with some mod I managed to get nice FPS there).

The Question is:
Does anybody have a similar (or the same) rig as I do, and can it run quite smoothly (25-30 FPS) on lowest settings? Or Are there any SURE mods which can provide a better performance for a system specs like mine? (I found plenty of them before, but people were mostly complaining about them doing nothing or only a placebo effect)

Ummmm, help...?

You could probably get the game to work on your system.
However I wouldn't expect you to get a smooth frame rate.

All 3 main parts are under spec. Brutal but honest.

If the CPU is Sandy Bridge, like i3 23xx it should be able to handle it (maybe give us some more info), but the GPU is relatively weak.
You might be able to play it at lowish settings, can't guarantee it, though.
