What happened to the PC version ?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 7:26 am

Something is not right.

For some unexplained reason the PC and XBOX360 versions of Skyrim still hasn't been released in Greece.
The PS3 version though was available since the first day of the official release (11/11/11)
I keep cheking local stores and they tell me what the importer/supplier tells them, and that is that the PC and XBOX360 versions of the games will be released later..
The first time I checked (11/11/11) they told me (come back next Monday) which would be 14/11/11.
On that Monday they told me it will be available next week (21/11/11).
On 21/11/11 they all changed their sites and wrote that the game will be available at 6/12/11.
And today stores changed their sites again and the new date is 9/12/11!

The PC and xbox360 versions have been delayed 4 times and still a month after the game's release are nowhere to be found, while the PS3 version was in the stores since day 1.
What is wrong Bethesda ?
Will we ever get the PC and XBOX360 versions of the game at all in here ?
I send you an e-mail under the "costumer support" tag about 2 weeks ago and you never replied.

Just let me know if I should keep waiting, or import a copy of the game myself from another country.

Might be a case where they made less PC copies than they did the others, or maybe retailers didn't order as many.

I went to Best Buy to buy it on release day, then realized I still hadn't decided whether to buy it for 360 or PC. Walked out, made my decision for PC three days later, then came back. They were out of PC versions because they had ordered like twice as many 360 copies as they had PS3 and PC put together. Waited a couple days, still no dice, so I scoured local game stores until I found one with a PC copy.

Can you download the Greek version of the game through Steam?

In Steam it is available since 11.11.11.
It's the retail version that keeps getting delayed.
I know the obvious "Then buy it from Steam Doh" but I really want a physical box with manual and map... :(
And xbox360 owners doesn't have Steam.
Only those with ps3s are able to play it here.

I don't think its because of the euro crisis.
I guess if this matter had anything to do,ps3 version would be also effected.

I dont think this has anything to do with Bethesda but rather a retailer problem. Either order from abroad or buy from steam.. svck to be you.

A story I heard from local retailers is that Bethesda doesn't send copies of the game here to avoid having stock problems in other countries.
Perhaps after sales drop in other countries, they will decide to send some over here too.
Don't know if this is true, but I'd like to listen to Bethesda's opinion too on the subject.

Is this a Greek-language version that you're looking for, I assume?

Sorry you don't have the physical PC version available yet - I agree, it's nice to have the disk and the map.

No,I don't think Skyrim will get localized. Only Sony and EA localize their games for us.
I'm waiting for the English-speaking European version of the game, exactly the same as Brittish get.

Ah. Well, hopefully they'll get it out there soon. This might sound like a lot of trouble for a video game, but Macedonia and Bulgaria are EU countries, correct? Are you anywhere close enough that a retailer there might have one you could order? I don't even know if that's a reasonable suggestion or not. Nobody in the EU has a European copy of the game that you could order over the internet? Some EU parallel to Amazon, or some large chain software retailer, even if they aren't in Greece?

Look at it this way, by the time the PC version is there, most of the bugs should be fixed.

I've never bought something from another country,so I waited for the local release.
But it keeps getting delayed again and again and I lost hope.
My problem is that I have to go to the bank and make a debit card to buy from another country, and banks are open only while I work too,and closed at the hours I don't work so I should get a day of my job just for this..

I would just order it online. Does PayPal require you to have a debit card?
