Savegame file size?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:30 pm

I have quite a few saves on my level 50 thief. Actually "quite a few" is a bit of an understatement. I have well over 1,500 saves. I'm not sure where they are located (but that's only because I've not even tried to look for them).

I am not experiencing any problems (I have a lot of empty space on my computer). I am just wondering how big is a typical save file?

First calculation has my Guess at about 2 Gigs of save files...ya might want to trim that down a bit..lol. At around the Level 50 mark my saves are about 13 Meg each...

The saves are located here....>>> {your user name}\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves

Right Click the folder , bottom choice "Properties"....what size is it?? The load screen will get a little slow but haven't heard of anything else that saves affect.

Thanks. That's about what I expected. It is no big deal. I'm not experiencing any problems due to having so many save files. And I like knowing that if I really wanted to I could go back to my very first save.

But, as a side note, would it create problems if I erased all but my 20 most recent saves?

I sniped a ton of saves recently. No problems. I have a few, hand picked, ( save points in main Quest) and the last 5 from the level I am at now..(50). I also have my very first save. @ Prisoner Skyrim 00.04.37 Didn't even have a name yet ..lol

EDIT: you could do like others do...Zip a bunch of saves up, burn them to a DVD..?
