Sleeping Tree Sap bug?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 10:07 am

Alright, so I've run into a problem that obstructs a very small part of gameplay and I refuse to stand for it.
The effect caused by the sleeping tree sap (the same effect used for most 'drunk' mods) causes my screen to go pitch black when I consume it. I can move around and interact with the world, but the HUD and everything visible with the exception of my inventory is impossible to see.

After studying the effect for a while I've noticed that I haven't gone COMPLETELY blind, since I can still very vaguely see objects and actors in the world around my character - but this may only apply to third person view, I'm still fiddling around with it.

What is the cause of this and how to I remedy it?
I'd very much appreciate a fix for this, and I think it would serve to help anyone else experiencing it - though a google search yielded no results at all.
Please help, and thank you.

edit> as an aside, my graphics are as low as the default setting can go. Could this possibly be the problem?

The last time I used this stuff, my screen went blue purple or was it pink, I don't remember, and I was barely able to see the troll I was fighting. But I won! :)

The first time it happened I was fighting two falmer at once at level 13 or maybe 11.
I still managed to win despite being blind.

I was screwing around with graphics settings last night, and I've discovered that it isn't because I have them set low.

I don't happen to know my system specs. :c

I would think radial blur effects this.....the lower it is the more blind it literally makes you.

That can't be it because my radial blur is set to high.

Ya that just means its attempting to render it in better fidelity and if your card cannot handle the effect or handles it poorly(drivers) you get a bad effect. Try turning it down or even off.

Turning my radial blur down didn't have an effect, so I'm just going to have to assume that I have a [censored] graphics card or something.
It's a shame because I have no idea how to fix that, don't have the money to do it, and don't feel particularly inclined to do it.

Midas Magic for Skyrim (mod) has a Night Eye spell that could probably overcome this.
You probably shouldn't be drinking Hist sap, though. :)
