How to Take a Screenshot?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:04 pm

Alright, so cut the bull about me being a noob or whatever because I'm really not in the mood.
No matter how I slice it, Skyrim is not allowing me to take screenshots. So, without this, I cannot take screenshots for help with certain issues I'm having.

So, I press prntscreen or whatever, and that makes a bitmap image. This type of image cannot be opened by MS Paint, Windows Photo Viewer, or any photo upload site. I cannot change it to a JPG online without distorting the image.

Can someone please teach me how to [censored] do this?

Edit: I can take it off of the Steam F12 but I can find no real way to upload it to the internet so that others may view it.

Use The GIMP to covert and optimised them, it's what I use all the time, Linux and Windows. http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

Thanks, but I finally figured it out. Have to go through Steam's online screenshot manager and everything. Thanks a bunch, anyways, I'll keep GIMP in mind for when things get advanced.

I personally like to use Fraps to take all of my screenshots. And record as well.

Yeah, FRAPS is great for screenies. Just hit F10 or whatever you've changed it to. FRAPS saves in various formats depending on what you set. I use BMP because every graphics prog I have opens that format.

FRAPS is limited though so I use MSI Afterburner, which is completely free.

I use the print screen key, and then resize the pic in photoshop.
