Greetings and well met adventurers!

Just purchased the DVD for PC and am excited to get into the RPG experience!

Problem: This is my first experience with "Steam". I have a steam account and I have installed Skyrim from the DVD, but I just have no idea weather the 1.4 patch has been applied to my game. I have looked both on Skyrim and on Steam and I just can not tell what version of Skyrim I am running.

I also must say that I have not yet even begun the Skyrim adventure because of this. How can I tell what version I am running?

You should have 1.4 as long as you have an internet connection. When you start a game and then press Esc, you should see the game version in the bottom left of the menu.

Or...

Programfiles\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim

right click TESV.exe>properties>details>product version. Fully patched it should be 1.4.27.0

or you can just hover the mouse cursor over the tesv.exe file in explorer, and it displays the version that way as well.
