Baldur's Gate 2 > Skyrim

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:22 am

If you ever played baldur's gate 2, you know damn well what master gameplay and story is about. People keep saying skyrim is the best rpg of all time. I bet they never played baldur's gate 2. Even with the ridiculously outdated graphics of BG2, it would still be a deeper, scarier, more compelling, character driven, crazy booby trap having, surprise event, omfg wtf moments game then skyrim.

I really can't see how people boast it to be the absolute best rpg ever. Doesn't combat system and complexity in dungeons mean anything?

I remember not having a skilled thief in my party so he can't detect traps well, hitting an INVISIBLE trap, getting turned to stone, then a stray fire arrow hits and shatters me for the instant kill... I was like OMFG, that was awesome. Trial and error in an adventure game is a must. I barely ever run into a scenario in skyrim where i feel if I make a wrong step it is GG. dark souls had that kind of dread. Every rpg should in all honesty.

This game remind me of gangplank mode as far as the jokes i can make. (LoL reference)

Dragon got me to 10% health but i ate an orange and it was k

Stepped on trap that send giant wall of spikes but I ate an orange so it's k.

Got jumped by 40 dreugrs but i got plenty of oranges so its k.

Like well....Punish them damn it, The only punishing factors in skyrim are factors that SHOULDNT punish you. If I focus on lockpicking on my thief in BG2, he doesnt suddenly become fodder for the most basic of thugs...

BG2 had a better combat system, dialogue, mystery, customization, immersion, creepiness, enemy scaling, difficulty settings, bag space requirements, stats in general, traps, and wtf moments.

skyrim had better graphics and better exploration.

How the hell is skyrim considered the best RPG of all time.

Even star wars : knights of the old republic was better imo.

Maybe different people have different opinions than yours, but who knows, maybe you is right and yours opinions towards what the Best RPG should be are facts and I don't noted it.

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 are both some of the greatest games ever made. Do they come even close to Skyrim for me? No.
