Massive ammounts of lag spikes. : V

Ever since I have bought skyrim from steam whenever I play, it runs perfectly for about 5 minutes, and then it gets a lag spike that goes on for about 30 minutes, making it unplayable. It only happens for skyrim, I already needed to buy a cooler for my laptop that is made for gaming ironically. Please help.

Are your power options set to high performance? And also is your GPU performance set to 100% in your settings? (AMD cards have that option).

And is your laptop actually plugged in and switched on at the wall?

My laptop is plugged in to the wall, but how do I check if my power option is set to high performance,and how do I check my cpu? Thanks for responding :biggrin:

Go to Control Panel, then Power Options, and make sure it's set to high performance

It may already be, it's just a shot in the dark lol.

Skyrim still lags for me, I even downloaded skyboost.
