Can two people play this game?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 7:12 pm

There are two of us that are wanting to play Skyrim, is there a way to do this?
I have installed the game on my screen, and have the Steam account, and now my husband wants to play it as well from his screen, but it will not allow him for some reason.
What do we have to do to both be able to play Skyrim?
Thanks,

I doesn't sound to me like you mean multiplayer, but if you do: No. This game is for one player only.

It sounds more like you are trying to play the same copy on more than one computer at the same time. This is also something you cannot do. Each copy of this game can only be registered to one Steam account. Each player must have their own seperate copy on their own seperate Steam account.

You must buy another copy and register it to a second Steam account or take turns.

...I think. Steam has an offline mode, but I don't know if it makes what you want possible.

Log into different accounts on your computer...you cant play at the same time....But really who is going to tell anyone they cant have 50 different profiles . to run 50 different characters. Played one at a time...take turns...

You can only play one at a time unless you buy different copies...

Edit...you would need to log out of steam...log into another computer/account log into steam ....play.
I also recall you need to turn off something called steam guard....or it wont let you log in from a different computer...

camaro-69_327, I thank you for your reply to my post. That is the information that I needed so that two of us can play this game.
We were not wanting to play at the same time, just the same game.
Thanks,

Nope, don't turn it off.

If you try to log in from a different computer, it emails you a verification code that you enter on the new machine.

Yep, I might get yelled at but I'd be willing to bet that if you steam verify both computers, download skyrim on both pcs and install it, update it mod it whatever, turn steam to offline mode on one computer and unplug your Ethernet cable/turn off wireless adapter for zero Internet connectivity, you should both be able to play at once.
