Underwater a pain for AMD users with DoF?

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 6:08 am

ok my probelm was this at first http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198037696072/screenshot/578951332433479822
underwater there was no detail whats so ever and it was a sickly green. Ive been reading from posters on forums but was wondering if its a "AMD" problem only?

go into Skyrim ini files in ur documents folder and change the DoF to 0 and u will get this

works great, but i have DoF now. I can deal with ti atm, but was wondering if anyoen knows the cause of this? i knwo not every user is experiencing it but wondering if we figure out if its AMD?

specs are
AMd phenom II X6 1090T
AMD HD6970 2g
8g ram
Wins 7 64bit

I'm pretty sure my CPU/graphics is Intel i7, and I have this issue. I would rather not just completely get rid of water opacity though.

I get the green water when d3d9.dll from ENB is present in my install folder, if I remove it, my water returns to how it should be.

AMD 6970 here, on Catalyst 12.1 officials...my underwater scenes looked http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/504641629020911897/969AB25B76CA6422C3FCC31E6A21E096C9FA4345/ (not to mention very pretty) right off the bat. Everything's murky, but still clear enough that I can see things. It's not pea soup, in other words. DoF in SkyrimPrefs.ini is set to 1, which IIRC is the default.

I don't use ENB or any other sort of shader mod.

AMD 6950 here, specs in the sig, here is what I got:

I think i'm running older 11.x drivers because the 12's gave me issues and I just haven't updated.

I'm using the 12.1 drivers on my 6770 and getting decent underwater screens as above.
