Graphic Issues 2560x1440

Hey,

I got to set up a new PC and lately installed Skyrim. And ran into issues.

System configuration:

i7-2600K
EVGA GTX 580 - 1,5GB OC
16GB RAM
Latest drivers, of course.

So, it should be no problem to play Skyrim, but it is. And it is as soon as I change the resolution to 2560x1440, the native Resolution of my Dell U2711, working fine with other games. But Skyrim won't, regardless of Fullscreen or Windowed mode. I tried it with max and min settings, no effect. Does anyone have a clue, where the problem may be?

There is a screenshot I took right at the start of the game. It seems like the resolution is not correct, but it is in skyrimprefs.ini ... Also, there are shadows of characters and fires visible. During character generation there's no body, only eyes, floating where they should be. Eyes are also a part of those things flying around while the characters have empty eye sockets. But, unfortunately, I don't have the rights to post a link. :-|

Moving the camera around gives the impression of a magnifying glass...

But if I change the resolution to 1920x1080 ... everything is fine. Why?

Thanks in advance!
