Massive Lag and FPS loss in 1.5

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 8:32 am

I havent had any issues before, even on past patches... but by upgrading to 1.5 i lost arround 10fps and i get constant lag, even when i am at 40 plus fps... has anyone else encountered lag and fps loss on 1.5?

Yes, ive noticed small slowdowns at times with 1.5, and im almost always on 60fps except in towns with lots of people.

Dident really care for the inclusion of killcams on bows either, and i hope Bethesda gives us a option to turn it off for the people that want it.

1.5 is killing my rig, sometimes i lose arround 15fps which is quite a lot... i am reverting back to 1.4 which is considerably faster in my pc, oh and where is the option to turn shadowgrass off? it might just be what slowing my game.

This 1.5 patch actually makes my game freeze at spots for a few seconds and then it becomes fine again. Constantly in cities, but nowhere else. Its like an intense stuttering of some sort. Huh... *shrugs*

Yes, here's my thread on the issue I made yesterday: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1360243-fps-drops-after-updating-to-15/

For me it's definitely the new grass shadows. What are your system specs and display settings for skyrim?

Try turning down shadows from ultra to high and see if that helps.

Saddly it did not work, but i found another way to PARTIALLY recover some FPS, i had changed the grass distance before 1.5 and was working great, since 1.5 seem not to like those changes to grass distance, just reverted to original grass distance settings and recovered like 6 fps, my average fps is still too low 27-36... but better than nothing.
