Orc strongholds & Redoubts

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 8:35 am

I think they're interesting by layout but they're so empty. No quests (or very few, i've just did the entry quest) only good thing is that i got the female orc companion (though she died a couple of hours later, :D ) what you guys think about them?

They still add a nice little atmosphere, but i think it's strange to have 4 strongholds if they're all copies of eachother with no uniqueness whatsoever :)

Now the Redoubts. Oh my, oh my. Especially standing on top of The Lost Valley Redoubt during the sunrise is SO epic.

I think those majestic ruins are my favorites.

What do you guys think about them?

Yeah would be nice to have your own stronghold :D But i think the occupants wouldn't like that.

I think Orc players should have the option to buy a home in a stronghold/become chief. Would be interesting I say or maybe I'm just to much of an Orc really devoted fan :tes:

I took one over but I had to kill everyone. Now its just me and one other orc there but I still bring all my loot back and store it there.

The most disappointing this about the strongholds is that an Orc character has 1 less quest to do for them, cutting the number of quests by half and bringing the grand total to 1 quest from the 4 strongholds. Unless I missed something. I was really expecting a lot more when I learned from an Orc smith about the strongholds.

There needs to be a mod where you can live in one if you picked an orc for your race.

Actually, that would be a fantastic expansion. Rising the ranks of an orcish faction, possessing your own castle as grand as the DLC fort from Oblivion. Maybe even better. Darn it, I'm getting excited. :celebration:

I posted a thread how I thought Orsinium and the war between the Bretons and Orcs would be an awesome expansion! Orsinium is way too small to be it's own game and with recent events, it would make sense. I just wanna help retake my homeland and kill some humans!!!!

Having a home in a stronghold would be neat, but I wouldn't want be chief. Being "leader" in TES games is also so lame and weird.

"I'm the guild master but instead of ever doing my job like setting policy and doing administrative stuff I'm always out questing, dropping by maybe once a month to pick up money."

It's always so ridiculous.

Orc-related DLC incoming...

I mean seriously, its not like they have a province to base an entire TES game on, so they have to be in a DLC sometime.

You help the orcs out with a few minor matters, building trust.

Then, they get word that a group of refugees, mostly women and children, are trying to get across the border but are being harried by breton and redguard outriders.

After assisting the refugees you find that the orc prince and his elite guard are among those helping to keep the outriders at bay.

The prince himself has you perform some quests related to securing and establishing a site for a new home. Clear some mines and quarries of evil beasts, head off a concerted attack by their enemies. Investigate signs of a new, more insidious danger, that ends up being a huge boon to the orcs once its secrets are learned (dwemer device, a buried artifact, something else...). As you progress through the questline, the new orc town and fortifications progress to completion.

End up as a high ranking member of the orcish military or perhaps an advisor to the prince, together with rights and title to a new fortress built to protect approaches to the new orc homeland...

I think Orsinium would be a great DLC. Granted my character is an orc.
