Item or Feature Desire

One of the more pesky things I find when not fast traveling is coming upon a group of NPCs and not knowing if they are hostile or not until they turn to red dots. Granted some can be obvious from a distance, but for an archery character I would like a chance to get an attack in on an imperial patrol before I can get close enough to identify their armor 100%. This is just an example, there are many times I would like to see either the detail of a creature or NPC at a greater distance.

This is not a draw distance or graphical detail issue. What I would like is either A.) NPC/Creature names appear when reticle is over them before an attack is made or B.) Some sort of zoom function, perhaps a spyglass. I would love to be able to click my mousewheel, have a zoomed view perhaps with a circular FOV as per a lens and see NPC armor in detail with their name caption. (not a perk seeing how this would be useful to more characters than just archers)

This is not necessarily a complain but more a wish for just a simple feature of some sort to make traveling more fun and increase the quality of engagements.

Completely agree. I have problems with this all the time.

Just giving my two cents...

I LIKE that I don't know if an NPC is hostile or not. I think an aggro identifier would make the world too easy to explore.
