Silver Weapons.

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 5:26 am

I don't know if this was discussed before but I simply love Silver weapons even though they are pretty bad on some occasions on Master difficulty.
Yet I don't understand why we can't upgrade Silver weapons to flawless or maybe higher?

Even though it's not a very common blade in Skyrim you should still be able to upgrade it, in my opinion.
Or is it just a bug or glitch in my game?

I think it was an oversight. I don't think Beth really thought that through because I would have seen Silver weapons again as they always looked really nice, especially the claymores. The silver is there to smith but only for jewelry, which is a shame.

Its just that way, low grade weapons and armor can't do past a point on the "Degree" of power added.

Patch 1.2 broke silver weapons. They now only deal base damage against undead. In 1.1 silver weapons ripped undead enemies to shreds.

yeah beth didn't care so much about silver weapons

small damage (though they're effective against draugr in early levels, they're total damage easily outrun by skyforge steel sword (exquisite) if you're companions member. if not, just looking for elven sword

plus there are not many undead enemy or ghost enemy like in oblivion. or hostile werewolves beside sinding

Yes there are.
My lvl 56 char found 2 daggers, one long sword and a 2h hammer untill now.
But they are realy rare. Do a ton of dungeons and you will find them for sure.
I just not realise yet if they are like a fixed loot or totaly random loot. But i vote random.

There are no silver daggers or hammers.

You are thinking of something completely different. Silver weapons aren't random, either.

Only silver swords and claymores. No maces, daggers, short swords, bows. More and more cuts made by Bethesda...

True, i checked in my game and i have only 2 long swords instead of the daggers.
Altough i remember to find something silver 2h, and sold. Possible the claymore then.

I bet if someone asked you if the glass was half full or half empty, you would say, that you would say that it was half full. Because that's what you like to think you'd do.

No reason for that little shot at me. I was simply giving an opinion. I really liked the silver weapons, and I was stating what they took out. I step back and look at this game and believe my glass is pretty full, I just miss some of the chopped content.

I'm pretty sure it was not a mistake. Think of it this way... A silver bow would be useless. A mace would be useful but since it doesn't cut the silver components are wasted. Axes yea that could have been miss, but really the axe perk is lol compared to swords.

All good points, Nitosnwbrdr. I still miss the silver maces and axes the most. To each their own, I guess.

Wait... are you saying you can't upgrade silver weapons once you have Arcane Blacksmith?

Ugh.... there goes that plan. >.>

At least I have a nice new ornament for my house.

Dissapointing... I loved my silver sword in Oblivion.

As of now, you can't. At least I can't. Perhaps a future patch can fix this.
